The Works is a learning zone on Frenchay Campus that is open to all students.

Software build

The Works has high performance PCs with a selection of engineering and software development applications installed. All of the PCs are bookable.

Four group booths with large screens and Kramer connect.
Power and wifi for laptop use.
Group tables and flexible space for group study or presentations.
Soft seating and ergonomic operator chairs.

The Maker Space

The Maker Space is open to all students and staff. Drop in to learn more about coding, 3D printing, photography, immersive headsets and more. You don’t have to be on a ‘digital’ course to come and have fun with technology.

Lego Spike to create and block code.
Micro bits.
Simple robotic programming.
AV – Greenscreen.
3D Printer.
360 camera and content.
Virtual Reality (VR) headsets.

Find The Works above The Foundry and just past the entrance to OneZone and the Careers and Enterprise Zone on Level 2. The Maker Space is in the room at the back of The Works.

Opening times

The Works	08:30 – 21:00, Monday to Friday. 10:00 – 21:00 at weekends.
The Maker Space	11:30 – 15:30 most days. Monday to Wednesday, a member of staff will be on hand to help you get started with the equipment.
