Pre-arrival checklist

We’re looking forward to welcoming you as you begin your studies at UWE Bristol. To make joining us as easy as possible, we’ve put together a list of things you need to do before you arrive.

If you're an international student, please read our pre-arrival information for new international students in conjunction with this checklist.

1. Activate your UWE Bristol IT systems accounts

Once you have satisfied all admissions requirements, we'll send you your login details for our IT systems to the email address that we've been using to communicate with you. This will be from December onwards.

Please follow the instructions to activate your account once you’ve received your login details.

Once your account has been activated, we’ll send all future communications to your University email account (you can find it through myUWE, the student portal). Make sure that you check it regularly.

2. Complete your online registration

Visit myUWE to register online, confirm your personal details and submit your photograph for your university ID card.

If you need support with this, please read our guidance on registering online and submitting personal details.

3. Make arrangements to pay your fees

As part of the online registration process in myUWE, you need to make arrangements to pay your fees.

4. Complete your disclosure checks (specific courses only)

If you're going to be studying a specific health or education course, you'll need to complete your Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Occupational Health checks. You will have received the relevant paperwork for this when you firmly accepted your offer.

If you have any queries relating about disclosure checks please email the Applicant Experience Team at admissions@uwe.ac.uk.

5. Check your joining instructions

Take a look at the joining instructions for your course (available from early December) to find out the date that your course starts and other important information.

6. Pack your photo ID

You'll need photographic evidence of your identity (such as a valid passport, driving licence or EU/Swiss Identity Card) so that you can complete your registration in person at the University.

7. Access your teaching timetable via myUWE

You can find your timetable under the Courses tab in myUWE. If you have any problems viewing it, follow the Self-help guide in InfoHub (you'll need your UWE Bristol login details) to see what you should do next.

8. Read the moving in guide

You're almost there! Take a look at the moving in instructions for practical guidance on settling into your accommodation. This includes what you should bring, where to collect your keys and lots more.

9. Any questions?

Our new students' hotline is there to answer any questions you may have about your application:

Telephone: +44 (0)117 32 83333
Email: admissions@uwe.ac.uk.

Make sure that you have your UWE Welcome ID to hand so that we can find your information quickly.
