10 essential things to do on arrival at UWE Bristol

1. From airport to UWE Bristol

See details on using our pre-booked airport pickup service or other forms of transport to get you safely to UWE Bristol.

2. Move into your accommodation

View our moving in guide. You may also need to go shopping for some home essentials.

3. International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation is a fun-filled two days where you can make friends and find out everything you need to know.

4. Complete your UWE Bristol registration

You will need to attend a face-to-face registration session where you will receive your student ID card.

5. Collect and scan your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)

The Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card is a requirement for all students entering the UK on the Tier 4 student visa. There are some small changes to the Biometric Residence Permit card collection process, which now means you can collect your BRP card from UWE Bristol rather than the nearest post office.

6. Register with the police

If it is stated on your visa that you need to register with the police you will need to do this within seven days of arrival in the UK. View further information regarding arriving in the UK.

7. Register with a doctor

View information regarding international student health, including advice about accessing healthcare when you arrive in the UK.

8. Open a bank account

Fill in a bank letter request online and collect the letter from a designated Information Point. Further details about opening an account in the UK are available on the UKCISA website.

9. Course induction

Your chance to meet tutors, fellow students and get information about your class. View information about joining instructions to find out more.

10. Get involved
