Volunteering case studies
James - LLB Law with French
My UWE French Tutor put me in contact with the French Law
firm. I had to send my C.V. and covering letter. I had to do a one
page C.V. in French that included specific information
required...
Tim - BA History
The benefits of this job are extensive. The students and
members of the local community are friendly and great fun to teach
and learn from. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with them, and
learning about Japanese culture and history.
Lena - BA International Business Studies
I did 3 months work experience in Paris in import and export
and went to China for 6 months and worked with a translator in a
small business in home security.
Adam - BA Drama and Psychology
One of the reasons I choose BUNAC's Summer Camp USA was for
the career opportunities it would open for me. Not only do I now
have an impressive childcare experience on my CV but I gained
direct experience teaching Drama which links with my Degree here at
UWE.
Tom - BSc Computer Science
Working with the Centre for Complex Cooperative Systems in
BIT (Bristol Institute for Technology) for my final year project
and my placment at CERN helped me to get this job.
Jo - BA Fine Art
I have gained so much from this experience. I have a greater
understanding of Japanese modern culture and have grown in
confidence. I have also learnt so much about teaching and education
and having to speak Japanese everyday also obviously helps my
language studies.
Cathryn - LLB and LPC
I enjoy being given the opportunity to speak to clients and
become involved in their cases. I thoroughly enjoy being able to
draft and write complaints/prepare discovery/visit court and
actually experience what it is like to be an attorney in New York
on a day-to-day basis.
