Postgraduate students are not a uniform group – there is a wide variety of types and level of postgraduate study. However, it’s useful when exploring your options and planning your future to consider the difference between taught and research programmes.
If you are on a taught postgraduate certificate, diploma or MA/MSc programme you will be following a course of study that either builds on your existing academic studies or offers you the opportunity to move into a new discipline or to take vocational/professional qualifications.
