Ways of Communicating Science
Overview of different communication methods, including direct versus mass marketing and audience targeting.
This session introduces various methodologies to communicate scientific messages to different audiences. Both mass media and direct (face-to-face) methods are considered, including a comparison of the respective pros and cons. A particular focus is placed upon the need to clearly define the audience and tailor the communication to best suit that audience.
Specific methods highlighted can be adapted to suit the participants’ interests – please discuss this with the team in advance of the session.
