Facilitation Skills

Session Overview

Development of practical facilitation skills and techniques, along with tips on how to engage the public with controversial issues.

Content will include an overview of the purpose of facilitation, and key associated techniques that are effective in prompting dialogue, debate and discussion. Various different discussion formats will be discussed, and participants will be able to develop their practical facilitation skills using various types of facilitation aids.

Minimum Duration: Three hours
Maximum Duration: One day

Minimum Participants: Five
Maximum Participants: Fifteen

Resources Required: Flipchart, pens, flexible space.

UK and International Delivery.

Pre-requisite: Prior knowledge or experience of science communication or Ways of Communicating Science and/or Key Skills for Live Interactions with the Public.
