As PGR students, there are several ways that you can communicate with other students and staff in the Graduate School community.
Graduate School CommunityThe Graduate School would like to promote an interactive community for PGR students and supervisors by using a number of tools.
The Socially Connected Researcher Blog
This newspaper style blog is edited by the Researcher Development Manager and acts as a repository of reflections on the development of doctoral researchers and their supervisors by providing hints, tips, advice and other outputs from the skills development programme.
UWE GradSchool on twitter
The Graduate School has a twitter account for the purpose of sharing best practice, advice and suggestions from peers in the world of doctoral education. Events, studentships and news of relevance to UWE researchers are promoted through this medium.
The Faculty Research Degrees Committee (FRDC) and Graduate School Committee both have PGR student representatives as members. If you have a PGR issue you would like to raise, please contact your student representative.
Graduate School Committee
The Graduate School Committee will be meeting at various locations around UWE this year, and aims to meet up with those involved in doctoral activity prior to each ‘official’ meeting to see if this will help everyone feel a bit more connected.
Between 09:30 and 10:00, some members of the GSC and of the Graduate School Office will be available – please feel free to pop along to ask questions about the Graduate School, how it works and what it is doing for staff and students. Anything from just matching names to faces to challenging questions about doctorates would be welcome.
