Former students

To join the library you must fill out a subscribing borrowers’ application form and pay the appropriate fee. You must also prove your status by producing a Bristol UWE alumni membership card or have your application counter-signed by the alumni office.

Former staff

Retired members of UWE staff are entitled to join UWE Library free of charge. You must show proof of status or have your status confirmed by your faculty. Cards are issued for one year at a time, please contact the library for further details.

Using the Library

Once registered, former UWE students and staff are entitled to:

borrow up to 5 items (excluding videos)
make 2 reservations

Please note that it does not include the use of the inter-library loan service or access to electronic resources.

Access cards

If you use the Frenchay Campus (Bolland) Library regularly then you can apply for an access card to enable you to enter and exit through the turnstiles during unstaffed hours, including weekends.

External library users who are entitled to use the library without a charge may purchase a UWE ID (swipe) card for £6. If you are a subscribing borrower, the cost of a card is included in your subscription.
