Students and staff at schools and colleges

UWE Bristol Library Services welcomes visits from schools and colleges. Our staff will be happy to help you organise a visit.

Join the Library

Anyone can join the Library for free. You'll be able to use the study space, borrow books, use a photocopier, and access some of our online databases.

Training in the use of library resources

If your school group requires a training session, this must be arranged in advance. Please contact us for more information.

Library resources for schools

UWE Bristol Library has compiled some links to freely-available library resources for schools, including:

  • the UWE Bristol library search engine
  • subject-specific web gateways
  • open-access databases
  • study skills support for 6th form students considering university
  • other public and university libraries

Arrange a visit

  • All arrangements must be made in advance, and we would need two weeks' notice to organise a visit. Please let us know if any of your students have access needs.
  • All groups must be accompanied by a teacher/tutor or school/college librarian.
  • Applications will not normally be accepted from individual school/college students, although students aged 16 and over are welcome to use any of our libraries following a visit with their school or college.
  • Please contact us if you would like to organise a visit.
