Research in the Department of Health and Applied Social Sciences

The Department of Health and Applied Social Sciences is active in many areas of research and has established research projects attracting funding from various bodies both in the UK and abroad.

The Department hosts the Centre for Psycho-Social Studies and the Centre for Clinical and Health Services Research, both of which bring together world class researchers.

Researchers in the Department also work closely with colleagues in other research centres and institutes.

    A debate with Ben Hamilton-Baillie and Steve Melia and chaired by Professor Graham Parkhurst. The debate will begin with short presentations from Steve and Ben and will then open up to contributions from the audience. This debate will be of particular interest to transport planners, spatial planners, urban designers and anyone interested in the future of our streets and our towns and cities.

    Professor Pam Moule, Director of The Centre for Health and Clinical Research would like to invite the Faculty to a presentation from the Director of BresMed Health Solutions – Mr Nic Brereton.

    BresMed Health Solutions is a Health Economics Consultancy based in Sheffield, UK. It was founded in 2006 by Nic Brereton, and specialises in economic modelling for submissions to National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC). BresMed offers services in all areas of health economics and health outcomes.
