Full project title: Green Infrastructure in the urban environment
Duration: June 2010 - December 2010
Project leader for SPE: Dr Danielle Sinnett
The project produced a RICS Information Note on Green Infrastructure in the Urban Environment. This consisted of a review of the academic and grey literature surrounding green infrastructure in terms of the:
- Society: health and well-being, education, quality of life
- Environment: air quality, climate change, sustainable urban drainage, biodiversity, imported trees and plants
- Economy: maintenance and ongoing management, valuation of green infrastructure, damage to property and buildings, economic performance
The Information Note also provides guidance on planning policy for green infrastructure at the national and local level, and through sub-regional co-ordination as well as the delivery and funding of green infrastructure.
