About the Air Quality Management Resource Centre

For more than 20 years, the AQMRC has undertaken a continuous and extensive programme of research around air quality and carbon management.

Centre Director, Professor Jim Longhurst is recognised for his expertise in Air Quality Management. He was instrumental in UWE Bristol gaining the award of a national contract to provide a range of support services to the UK Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) process. The Air Quality Management Resource Centre was established as a result.

What we do

The AQMRC operates at the interface of science and policy integrating research and its application in the real world. Since our inception, we have provided air quality and carbon management support to numerous local, national and international practitioners, researchers and stakeholders, through a combination of research and consultancy projects.

Our approach ensures a cycle of knowledge exchange and capacity enhancement, where the real-world practical experience of supporting air quality and carbon management practitioners establishes the framework for further research. The research findings are then used to provide advice and evidence to technical and policy practitioners.

International recognition

Through many years of delivering high quality research, engagement and consultancy projects, the Centre has established an international reputation and proven track record for providing robust and often innovative scientific, technical and policy support and advice.

We are always open to formal and informal discussions on new projects and collaborative opportunities. For more information on how we can help you, please contact us.
