Registration and paying fees - new students
The following section contains information for new UWE Bristol students on how to register and pay fees.
There are four steps to registering as a new student at UWE Bristol:
- Step 1: Confirming your personal details
- Step 2: Agreeing to the University’s Terms and Conditions
- Step 3: Arranging to pay your tuition fees
- Step 4: Confirming your attendance in person and collecting your UWE Bristol Student ID card at a registration session
International students: To meet Home Office regulations, you must confirm your attendance in person so that your passport and visa can be checked. Please note: Registration will not be complete until you have done this.
If you are transferring to a different course at the same level and mode of attendance, please read the information for returning students.
How to register (steps 1 and 2)
All students are required to register (confirm personal details, arrange fee payment and agree to the University's Registration Terms and Conditions). Most new students will be able to register online, whilst others will be required to complete a paper registration form.
Once you have met all the conditions of entry for your course, you will receive an email containing your login information and instructions on how to access the UWE Bristol online systems, including online registration.
You will be able to register online through the 'Registration' tab in myUWE once you have received your login information.
If you are in one of the categories below, you will not able to register online. Instead, you will need to complete a paper registration form:
- Postgraduate research students
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) students
You will be told how to register by staff at your registration session. See your joining instructions to find out where and when this will be.
Paying your tuition fees (step 3)

Students (Home/EU) in receipt of Student Finance
To receive funding by the start of term, you will need to apply to Student Finance at least six weeks before the start date of your course. Applications made after this date may result in a delay to your funding.

If you still have queries on how much to pay for your studies, you can contact the University or visit any campus Information Point. Please also contact an Information Point if you miss your registration.
Registration sessions (step 4)
If you have registered online, you must attend a registration session at the start of your course to present any outstanding paperwork, collect a UWE Bristol Student ID card and receive additional information about joining the University.
Home Office regulations require you to attend a registration session in person at the start of each academic year, in addition to completing online registration.
Please note: Registration will not be complete until you have had your passport and visa checked.
Students based at partner institutions
Your host institution may have additional local registration requirements. Arrangements for your registration session will be made by the partner institution.
Not taking up your place at UWE Bristol?
If your plans have changed and you are not intending to take up your place this year, please let us know by completing this online form.
Please note: You must notify us in writing before the first day of your course.
If we receive your written notification after the start of term, you will be liable to pay a proportion of the annual tuition fees (see the UWE Bristol Tuition Fee policy).
