How to get to Bower Ashton Campus

From M5

Exit the M5 at junction 19 (Gordano Services). Take the A369 exit off the roundabout, towards Bristol, signposted Easton-in-Gordano and Clifton (Toll). The Faculty is approximately five miles along the A369. Pass through Abbots Leigh and Leigh Woods. At Leigh Woods, carry straight on past the turning for Clifton Suspension Bridge on the left and the main gateway into the Ashton Court Estate on the right.

Continue down a steep hill, past the Avon and Somerset Police Dog Training Unit on the left hand side. Shortly after the road has flattened out, there is a sharp left-hand bend with a turning on the right into Kennel Lodge Road. Turn right into Kennel Lodge Road, following the brown tourist board signs for Ashton Court Estate. Bower Ashton Campus is on the left-hand side.

From M4 (east or westbound)

Continue until you reach the M4 (junction 20)/M5 (junction 15) interchange and follow the M5 South to junction 19, then follow the directions above.

From M32/City Centre

Follow the signs to Bristol Temple Meads railway station/A38. At Temple Meads stay in the far right-hand lane through the traffic lights and follow the lanes marked A38/York Road (A370) bearing right to the next set of traffic lights (Fowlers Motorcycle dealers is on the corner on your left). Continue along York Road with the river on your right until you reach Bedminster Bridge roundabout.

Following the signs for M5 South/Avonmouth/Weston (A370), go straight on at Bedminster Bridge roundabout (through the middle set of lights), keeping the river on your right. As you pass Asda supermarket on your left, keep to the right-hand lane through the next set of lights and continue straight on. After approximately one mile, the road bears right, then forks shortly after a set of traffic lights.

Take the left-hand fork for the Weston/Taunton dual carriageway and follow the signs for Portishead (A369). Follow the A369, keeping left off the dual carriageway and then bear right, under the dual carriageway. Take the second exit off the next roundabout into Clanage Road and take the second left into Kennel Lodge Road. Bower Ashton Campus is on the left-hand side.

From Bath:

Follow the A4 into Bristol, until you reach Bath Bridge roundabout. Turn left (Fowlers Motorcycles on your left) into York Road (A370) and follow the directions above to Bower Ashton Campus.

Car parking

Car parking is by permit only. Visitors should report to Reception for a parking permit. Please note that a permit does not guarantee a parking place.

Please note: Parking permits are not required on UWE Open Days.

UWE buses - Wessex Red buses link all campuses with the city centre and can be used by students, staff and the travelling public.

Other services

Bus 505 runs to Bower Ashton from Southmead and Clifton. For details of other bus routes near Bower Ashton, visit TravelBristol.

From Bristol Airport, catch the frequent Airport Express Flyer coach to Bristol City Centre. Tickets can be purchased online or from the driver. You can then catch a bus or taxi from Temple Meads.

The closest railway station is Bristol Temple Meads. From the Station Approach catch half-hourly service U1.
