delegates at a conference networking

We are very proud of the positive feedback we have received from our partners on various recruitment schemes.

Graduate Internship programme

  • Mike Ralson, Managing Director at Solsoft:  The two interns have performed so well over their two month internship that we have offered them permanent positions, and they have accepted...”
  • Sam Morrison, Evil Genius Ltd: “I think the scheme is an excellent opportunity for both interns and businesses ... Ben has impressed me very much and when the right circumstances arise - either through the film we've been working on or commercial work via Aardman or elsewhere - I'll certainly employ him again. From my perspective it's great to get help on a project I've invested a huge amount of time ...”
  • Ben Lane, Ecolane Ltd “Very valuable scheme - and well managed - many thanks.”
  • Dr Jane Guise, Bath and West Society: “The service from the Recruiter Partnership team has been absolutely brilliant – we just put up an advert through the help of the team and had a bright person within a week. The service was quick and effective. I have already recommended the scheme to others – the whole thing has been a complete breath of fresh air…”
  • Vivienne Rayner MBE (South West Policy Manager, Federation of Small Businesses) “The FSB was delighted that the Graduate internship scheme has been adopted as it is an excellent opportunity for small businesses to see for themselves the benefit of including a graduate on their staff… we are pleased that UWE Career’s Recruiter Partnership team has embraced the scheme so wholeheartedly.”

Employability and Diversity Programme

  • Carrie Daniels, Trainee Recruitment Manager, Beachcroft LLP: “The UWE students we have had have exceeded expectations.  They seem to really value the experience and are very committed and enthusiastic. The project enables us to meet potential future training contract applicants. We have actually recruited 2 trainees having met them through this scheme, one has now been offered a newly qualified job in his chosen area of law and will shortly be qualifying. We've meet some really interesting people through this scheme. This scheme also allows us to reach people that may not have heard of us before and may not be considering us as a future employer.”
  • Heather Cooper Learning & Development Manager, Clarke Willmott LLP : “Clarke Willmott is committed to developing an organisational culture which values people from all sections of society.  Within each of our regions, we are always looking for ways to work with our local community and understand the difficulties individuals can face when trying to organise a work experience placement.  We are delighted to be able to offer our help with this scheme.”
  • Gillian Douglas, Equalities Manager, Bristol City Council: “Bristol City Council supports the Employability and Diversity Project because of the way in which it helps us tap in to the talent of Black and Minority Ethnic students. The project provides an invaluable link between the council as an employer committed to achieving a more diverse workforce and BME students who may not be aware of or have considered the council as a potential employer.”

Meet the Employers Fair

  • Rachel Keenan, Goddard Gadd: “The UWE careers fair was an excellent opportunity to meet potential job seekers of the future. I hope it went some way to show that we, as agencies and experts in the employment market, are here to help people throughout their careers and place them in rewarding jobs where they can develop and progress.”
  • Clare Rowe, AXA: UWE is on our gold list of universities.  We do a lot of work with UWE students, like presenting the employer’s perspective in UWE workshops and involving UWE students in employer panels.”
