About Ovo Energy

Ovo Energy started with a simple idea: that they could do it better. They describe their business:

“As energy customers ourselves we spotted a gap in the market for a new type of supplier; one born from a customer’s point of view that delivered cheaper, greener and simpler energy. Since our launch in 2009 our innovative approach has led us to a milestone of well over 100,000 happy customers.”

With over 240 employees across two sites in Bristol and London, they’re growing rapidly, so are constantly on the lookout for bright sparks to join their team.

Ovo’s challenge

The recruitment team at Ovo faced a challenge in finding enough high calibre candidates to join their Graduate Scheme. Though they take on graduates in various departments, they have a particular need in IT and systems. As customer service is such a focus for the business, they also required great graduates to join their continually growing Customer Care team.

How UWE Bristol helped

As part of a wider strategy, we recommended that Ovo attend graduate recruitment events to connect with graduates. These events are an effective way to access lots of great candidates from all faculties.

They’ve found targeted graduate events a great way to make connections with potential talent.
