It was with many regrets that we had to cancel the 5th COSINUS conference that was scheduled to take place in April 2016 at the Marriott Royal Hotel, Bristol. We received a lot of interest in the conference, so cancelling was a very difficult decision to make.
We would like to thank everyone who expressed interest in the conference and we especially would like to thank those who submitted abstracts.
About the COSINUS conference
COSINUS works in collaboration with the International Journal for Strategy and Innovation, edited by Professor Mohammed Saad. Professor Saad would like to invite everyone who submitted a conference abstract to resubmit their paper to be considered for publication in the next issue of the journal.
During the planning stages of the COSINUS, we had a number of discussions with various contributors, former COSINUS delegates and other colleagues and, despite the fact that the conference did not go ahead, we would still like to explore some of the ideas which emerged.
One key idea was around creating a stronger network to bring together and to support colleagues who are interested in innovation, strategy and university-industry links. Past conferences have shown that there is a keen dialogue around research in these areas and, as would-be collaborators are often geographically dispersed, having some semi-formal platform in place to encourage more participation and space for collaboration might be of interest.
To these ends, we propose to create a COSINUS group and to produce a quarterly newsletter where group members can discuss their research, publicise events that may be of interest to other members and, generally, support and encourage networking. We would also welcome any news or information you would like to see included in the first issue. We have plans to produce the first edition of a COSINUS newsletter.
If you would like to contribute to the newsletter, and/or be added to our mailing list to receive the COSINUS newsletter, please email COSINUS@uwe.ac.uk. So we can update any previous records, please include your full name, role, organisation and address.
