Business and Law Clinic

We offer a variety of legal services to the community provided by our Law School students  and supported by legally qualified lecturing staff and local practitioner involvement.

The Business and Law Clinic was founded as the Pro Bono Unit in 2008. Over the years it has offered advice to many members of the local community and further afield. We have won awards and been nominated for awards from Law Works, The Lawyer and Bristol Law Society.

Local practitioner involvement

The Business and Law Clinic works closely, wherever possible, with local law firms, as well as advice agencies and other organisations. We value the practice-led mentoring and advice offered by partners on initiatives such as the Business Advice Clinic, Team Entrepreneurship Law, and the opportunity for our students to work within our partner organisations in relation to welfare benefits projects.

Our current partners include Ashfords LLP, DAS Legal Services, EIP, Roxburgh Milkins, Bristol Law Centre, North Bristol Advice Centre and Support Through Court at the Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre.

UWE Bristol Law School is keen to work with legal businesses, advice agencies and charities. If you would like to work with us, please contact Rachel Wood, Business and Law Clinic Director, at Rachel.Wood@uwe.ac.uk.

Student involvement

Our business and law students have the opportunity to develop legal and professional skills and awareness by taking part in pro bono projects as part of the Business and Law Clinic.
