Feedback

How to receive feedback from us and tell us what you think.

You tell us...

You will be given plenty of opportunities to provide feedback on your modules, programmes and of the university as a whole throughout your studies.

Module Feedback

At the end of each module you will be asked to complete a ‘Module Feedback’ form to give your feedback on the module. However, you do not need to wait until the end of a module if you have any concerns or queries, you should speak to your Module Leader directly or your Programme Manager.

Programme Feedback

Each term the Student Representatives for each programme are invited to a Programme Student Staff Liaison Group. If you have any concerns about your programme, you should forward these to your Student Representative. Alternatively you can contact your Programme Manager directly.

University Feedback

Throughout your time at UWE you may be asked to complete various feedback surveys. These can be university surveys or external surveys i.e. National Student Survey.

It’s important to remember that we are always happy to hear your feedback and you do not need to wait until the end of a module or year to provide it. Feedback can always be provided directly to your Student Representative or Programme Manager.

Complaints Procedure.

We tell you...

The essential role of ‘feedback’  is to help you identify areas of strength and weakness in both your knowledge and your skills which you can carry forward and use to improve your performance in subsequent modules.

Formal feedback

Formal feedback is usually integral to the assessment process and is most commonly given in relation to assessments undertaken in non-controlled conditions (for example, coursework).  Feedback in this form will generate valuable comments in relation to how well you responded to the assessment requirements and how effectively you presented the information.  It will also offer good advice as to how the work might be improved which you can use when undertaking work in subsequent modules.  It is not uncommon for students who read and act upon feedback effectively to see their assessment performance (and therefore their marks) improve significantly.

It is therefore essential that you collect your coursework once it has been marked in order to receive your feedback and ACT ON IT!

Informal feedback

Informal feedback takes place over the course of the tutorial activity where tutors you will have the chance to discuss the topic with your tutor and he or she will be able to assess your level of understanding and address any misconceptions.

In addition, tutorials provide the ideal opportunity for tutors to support, develop and provide feedback on many of the key skills that are required in today’s business world; critical thinking, effective presentation of information, public speaking, negotiation and teamwork, to name but a few.
