Developing a world-class workforce
From our groundbreaking strategic partnership with Hewlett Packard to our unique Graduate Development Programme, we ensure our graduates are ready for work from day one.
Courses that deliver
UWE is committed to creating the professionals of the future. Many of our courses are developed to ensure training for emerging job roles that don't fit with existing traditional qualifications.
Strategic relationships with industry partners such as Hewlett-Packard are paramount to ensuring our students get the best learning experience possible. This unique partnership included the development of the HP Enterprise Computing degree, which provides students with unparalleled internships and the opportunity to harness the IT skills of the future.
Supporting our students
We achieve consistently high assessment levels for teaching excellence. Coupled with our unique Graduate Development Programme (GDP) and Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) scheme our students are able to develop the confidence, skills, experience and knowledge they need to succeed in the working world.
Industry standard facilities
Our students have access to industry-standard learning facilities which are geared up to deliver innovative course practice. UWE is the only university to have a fully immersible Virtual Linear Accelerator, which trains radiotherapists to safely deliver doses of radiation to tumours. Our facilities also include a flight simulator and a state-of-the-art Crime Scene House, which provides truly realistic crime scene scenarios for our forensics students, ensuring they are ready for work from day one.
Cutting edge opportunities
Our collaborative partnerships with industry provide our students with cutting edge opportunities. UWE's partnership with Dremel enabled Creative Product Technology students to work on live competitive briefs and to get a taste of what it is like in the world of product design. The winning team, led by student Hywel Vaughan, created the Dremel Air, a compressed air based painting product, helping Dremel to tap into the arts and crafts sector.
