Why can't you provide more parking
We can only provide as many spaces as the local authority's
planning permission allows.
To reduce our impact on the environment and wider community,
we're developing and investing in alternative transport options.
And that means trying to reduce the amount of single-occupancy
car travel to our campuses. For more information, please read our
What do you do with the money raised from

All of the money we raise goes to funding our sustainable travel
measures. We invest in cycle facilities, as well as holding walking
and cycling campaigns and training.

What are you doing to make sure your car
parks are properly managed and maintained?
Our car parking operatives regularly patrol
and carry out condition surveys on all of our University car parks.

Do I need to pay outside of term
Yes. You'll need to pay throughout the
year, from 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday (excluding advertised
Can I park at the University when
catching the Megabus?
No. We can only provide parking
for people attending the University.
I am attending a short course/conference
- do I need to pay to park?
If you haven't been notified of alternative
arrangements or supplied with a parking pass, you'll need
to buy a daily parking token.
I need to stay overnight - what do I need
If you're a student or member of staff
and want to park between the hours of 22:00 and 6:00,
you'll need to register your vehicle at the visitor’s
reception when you arrive.
My regular vehicle is a van/campervan -
are there any height restrictions on car parks?
Currently, car park 20 is the only car park
with a height restriction of 2 metres. If you're a student at
Frenchay Campus with a high-sided vehicle of more than 2m, you
won't be able to park unless you'd like to car share. In
that case, you can use car park 1.
I'm attending an
interview/conference/Open Day - what should I do?
Parking instructions will be sent to you as
part of the event you're attending. If you don't receive
instructions, please contact the UWE department/service that
invited you. Alternatively, you can buy and display parking
validation on the day.
I'm a contractor - where am I allowed to

How do I appeal a parking notice?
If you receive a parking charge notice or
your vehicle is subject to enforcement action, you can appeal
either in writing or by e-mail. Unfortunately, it's not

How can I pay my car parking charge
Why are contractors allowed to park
outside designated areas?
Some contract and service vehicles need to
park in restricted areas due to the nature of their work. They've
normally pre-arranged this with the Transport Services
I'm travelling to UWE Bristol on a
motorbike - what should I do?
Motorcycles are currently exempt from
displaying a parking pass. But you should only park them in
designated motorcycle parking areas. If any motorcycles cause
damage, nuisance or a danger to other users or site operations,
they will be subject to enforcement action.
Can anyone book a visitor into car park
Only members of University staff can
