Student community volunteering
Our students volunteer for projects that make an impact to communities, locally and internationally.
How your support helps
Gifts mean that our students can continue to make an impact on people's lives, whilst enhancing their teamwork, communication and project management skills. We distribute these funds on an annual basis. Donate today and help us to continue supporting communities in the UK and abroad.
Here are some examples of recent projects the UWE Bristol Fund have supported:
Our support helped to ensure that older members of the local community felt less isolated at Christmas by attending a “Festive Friends" Christmas celebration.
- Deaf Sport
Our grant helped UWE Bristol Sport to deliver a deaf sport event, the first of its kind, which allowed children with hearing difficulties to play sport in an inclusive environment.
Our grant bought new tools and equipment for this volunteering group, which supports local green sites by contributing to their conservation and on-going maintenance.
- Care home art classes
Our grant funded materials that student volunteers used to provide art sessions for residents at a local care home.
Our grant funded a new music therapy clinic for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
How to apply
Students and staff can apply for grants of up to £3,000 to fund students volunteering in community projects. The project should make a positive impact in the community, and must involve UWE Bristol student volunteers.
The UWE Bristol Community Fund is jointly funded by the UWE Bristol fund held with the Quartet Community Foundation.
