Land East of Coldharbour Lane (LECHL)
The area of land located to the east of our Frenchay site has now been sold to help fund our new campus developments.
The ‘land east of Coldharbour lane’ site, which was previously used as car park 20, is bounded to the north by Bristol Business Park, to the south west by Stoke Park housing, and to the south and east by the Community Forest.
The site was formerly owned by the Wallscourt Foundation, a charity whose aim is to advance further education and learning at UWE Bristol. Following its inclusion in the South Gloucestershire Council's core strategy for residential development, it was marketed for sale to a developer, to help fund the new campus buildings and refurbishments .
Taylor Wimpey were chosen as the preferred developer, and following formal disposal of the site to them, they are progressing with a scheme including a range of housing, open space, associated infrastructure and small-scale commercial and community facilities.
UWE Bristol vacated the site on 31 January 2016 and all University parking is now located on our Frenchay Campus.
