Netballer taking a shot

Performance sport - Netball

The UWE Netball Club is one of the University’s most successful clubs competing in the premier tier of BUCS. The club is forever expanding and caters for players from recreational to senior internationals.

UWE Bristol provides a high performance programme through forming an academic partnership with England Netball that allows students to choose UWE Bristol and access England Netball High Performance Programme through the Intensive Netball Training Centre (INTC) at Bath University.

UWE Bristol students have an opportunity to compete in the South West Premier 2 league through our link with Premier Romans who train and play at the UWE Centre for Sport on Frenchay Campus.

The sports facilities and halls of residence on Frenchay Campus provide the perfect location for elite level netball players to balance student life with the pursuit of excellence.

Training and Competition

Weekly sessions including tactical, technical and strength and conditioning are led by an experienced multi-disciplinary team of professionals to develop and support elite players.

The club boasts four teams who play competitively in the BUCS League every Wednesday afternoon. All teams receive a weekly coached session and compete in BUCS. In support of the BUCS competitive teams there is a Social Sport Netball league catering for all levels.
