Musical activities - Feel Good February

As part of Feel Good February at UWE Bristol, there will be a whole range of free musical activities on offer giving you the chance to try something new and ‘feel good.’

Free music lessons

Book free music lessons for piano, guitar and drums during Feel Good February delivered by professional specialists. Playing an instrument can be deeply rewarding and relaxing as you focus your mind and body on producing sound and developing your technique.

Music making for non-musicians

This is a free music-making session with instruments that can be played without any prior experience – a fun and relaxed session supported by our music partners Soundcastle.

Making music with others boosts your mood and releases stress. Come and try some music-making with instruments that anyone can instantly pick up and play, don’t worry about feeling silly or not knowing what to do, we’ll help and guide you to enjoy making a little instant music.

Sing away stress

Show up to our big open rehearsal and join in!

Singing is good for you. Not only the deep breaths you take as you sing but the experience of singing in a big group has been shown to reduce stress. Come along to our special open rehearsals as part of Feel Good February.

Taking time to develop your own musical ideas  and songs is an exciting and satisfying means of self-expression. We are offering you the chance to learn how to do this using the best music technology applications.

UWE Jazz performances

Come and listen to a series of entertaining and uplifting performances from our talented jazz players and singers with irresistible toe-tappers and songs designed to bring a smile to your face.

Listen to live classical music

Listening to live classical music is excellent for relaxation and has been proven to improve concentration and creativity. Why not come and enjoy a short performance by the UWE orchestra and choir, performing music by Sibelius and others. When most classical concerts cost £15-30 why not take advantage of this free recital and take time to unwind.
