Theatre, stage and dance opportunities
There are plenty of opportunities at UWE Bristol for you to explore your dramatic side or get involved behind the scenes.
In collaboration with the University's Department of Drama, the CPA occasionally offers the opportunity to be involved in drama workshops and productions throughout the year.
The Centre for Performing Arts presents a glittering musical production each year. The most recent performance was Little Shop of Horrors in March 2017. Past successes include Fame, Hot Mikado, Jekyll and Hyde, The Wedding Singer, Our House, Titanic the Musical, Honk!, Soho Cinders, The Secret Garden and The Witches of Eastwick.

Backstage and technical crew
Are you interested in the technical side of theatre? Then come and join our excellent backstage crew. It is a great opportunity to learn new skills, particularly if you are interested in working in the theatre in the future.
Don't worry if you don't have experience – just come along to our weekly meetings in the CPA workshop on Wednesday afternoons from 14:30 to 16:30. We have an exciting programme planned for the term that will include lighting, sound, stage management, equipment maintenance and health and safety in the theatre.
Other meetings and work sessions depend on commitments to forthcoming events. These include the musical, concerts and set-building for drama productions. Typically, work sessions are one afternoon per week and Saturday/Sunday daytimes.
You can see the time-lapse set build for the 2016 musical The Witches of Eastwick by watching our film on YouTube.
Love to dance? Or never danced before? UWE Dance welcomes everyone and is a vibrant and growing society with lots to offer. Weekly classes are held in the Centre of Performing Arts building in a variety of styles and for all abilities, whether you want to improve your technique or learn a few moves for the dance floor. UWE Dance also runs social and special events, and looks forward to welcoming you to its classes.
Dancers are also needed for the CPA's annual musical.
