Other CPA opportunities

The Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) offers additional activities such as opportunities to sound engineer our gigs, book rehearsal rooms and takr part in performance and composition workshops.

Sound engineering

The Centre for Performing Arts provides musical enrichment on campus, as well as curating large-scale events at prestigious venues in the city and across the region. Some of these include our weekly performance slot at The Student’s Union at UWE, playing for university award ceremonies, conferences and special events, and our annual Festival of Sound that takes place at the Colston Hall.

There are many performances that require live sound engineering, so if you would like to be involved in this capacity, please contact Jack Barnett in the first instance by emailing jack.barnett@uwe.ac.uk.

Instrumental tuition

The CPA has details of music teachers across a range of instruments, disciplines and genres in and around Bristol (including tutors within the CPA) – all offering very competitive rates to students.

A new core activity we’re offering from the 17/18 academic year is our Keyboard Labs – free piano lessons for CPA members, taught in groups of up to eight by a single tutor but with individual teaching and communication through headsets – see the Playing opportunities page for more information.

For more information please contact the Centre for Performing Arts.
